Privacy at ummah.me

ummah.me is the public-profile surface of Ummah Media Group LLC. It shows a page at ummah.me/yourname built from what you chose to make public on UmmahPass and the other UMG sites - your screenname, your profile photo, and the listings, reviews, missions or posts you already published publicly elsewhere. It does not hold a separate account of its own.

What this site collects

  • Nothing you have to give it, to view a page. There is no account, no signup, and no login on ummah.me - the "Sign in" link goes to UmmahPass.
  • If you sign up for our newsletter (a footer form, entirely optional): your email address, the cadence you chose, and where you signed up from. We send one confirmation email to that address before anything else happens - double opt-in, never automatic. If you unsubscribe, we keep the address on a suppression list only, so we don't accidentally email it again.
  • Aggregate traffic analytics (Matomo, self-hosted on our own servers). Not Google, not Meta, not any analytics company.
  • Server logs - like every website, for security and debugging, kept for a limited period.

Stories on this page

A member's page can show their stories. They are posted on UmmahPass, not here, and the full detail of what is kept and when it is deleted is in the Stories section of the UmmahPass policy. Two things matter on this side of it: watching a story records nothing - there is no viewer list and no view count, because we do not store one - and a story disappears after 24 hours unless its author kept it, at which point the file itself is deleted and the link is re-checked to confirm it is dead. If you send a salaam, that is recorded against your UmmahPass account and it is deleted with the story.

The one thing worth being explicit about

ummah.me runs UMG's own first-party system that links your activity here to your UmmahPass profile across our sites, used today only to improve the product. It is on by default, it is never sold and never shared outside UMG, and you can turn it off any time in your UmmahPass privacy settings - which deletes the profile you already have, not just future collection. No third party tracks you on this page: no Google Analytics, no ad-network cookies.

The full policy

ummah.me is part of the UmmahCity ecosystem and runs on a shared UmmahPass account. This site loads the UmmahPass behavioral tracking script, which links your activity across UMG sites to a profile you can turn off and erase at any time in your UmmahPass privacy settings.
